Yes, even the ones that always seem to have it together on the daily, wake up with a crazy, out of control lion’s mane. What to do on a bad hair day?
Improvise. Sometimes the most involved hairstyles are as easy as 1, 2, 3. Here are some quick and easy updos will take you from freak show to beauty queen in no time.
It may seem over done and over used, but buns are classic. They accentuate a woman's facial structure and show off that slender sexy neck! You know what I’m talking about. Fierce, and you mean business!
What You Need: A brush, spray/mousse, bobby pins, and 2 hair ties.
Pull your hair into a sleek ponytail and use a little spray or mousse for any flyaways. Part the ponytail in half, vertically. Tilt your head down and start spiraling around the hair tie. Tie the hair into a bun. Use the bobby pins to secure any pieces that might be sticking out. There are other ways to do this, using a sock or one of those store bought “perfect bun” pieces. But if you’re in a rush and not prepared, this is more attainable. Not to mention, gives a more natural and softer appeal than a perfectly tight bun.
It’s raining, it’s raining…
I know, it doesn’t really matter what you do. Wind, rain, humidity, you might as well expect to be a frizzy mess. Unless you follow these easy steps to a "rain or shine" 'do. The best part? Length doesn't matter; Short, medium, or long-haired goddesses, it works for all of you.
What You Need: A brush, 2 hair ties, bobby pins, and hairspray (to kill the frizz).
You’re going to part your hair down the middle. Tie one half and get to work on the other. Part the side into three and twist till you’re about half way down your scalp. Bobby pin to secure the end. Repeat on remaining two sections and repeat on the other side. Keeping the original part, make two braids, twist into a bun and tie the hair at the bottom of the scalp. Or you can tie into one bun depending on the look you want to create.
Short-haired beauties! This one is especially for you. Not all of these styles are feasible if you’re head is going to end up looking like a bobby pin disaster because you can barely put your hair into a ponytail. With a headband you can create an up-do illusion.
What You Need: A brush and a headband
With your hair down, part down the middle. Start from the sides and grab pieces of your hair, a little twist then wrap it around the headband, pull through. Repeat on both sides until all of the hair has been wrapped around. The bottom it’s going to get a little crowded but this is good. It gives the effect of a chignon or a messy bun to complete the look. No pins, no hair ties and you’re done!
